Gresham’s most experienced Dentist
Michael McKeel DMD
Dr. Mike McKeel’s story is one worth telling. It’s a story of service to his community and to his patients. Mike is a lifelong resident of Gresham; his father was the founder of the M&M Restaurant in Gresham, still in business since 1946. His mother was a nurse for the first female doctor in Gresham.
He graduated from Gresham High School, Portland State University, and OHSU. Mike was the first athlete named to the PSU Athletic Hall of Fame. In addition to playing football, he was a member of the PSU NCAA National Champion Wrestling team.
Mike is a Navy veteran and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a dentist and medic. After his service, he returned to his hometown and began his dental practice in the historic Chamberlin Cottage.
His three children—Geoff, Ryan, and Amanda—all work in health services. Geoff, a U.S.M.C. veteran, works in safety and emergency management. Ryan helps supply critical medicine to poor countries, and Amanda is a pediatric mental health therapist. Mike’s wife, Diane, served eight years as a Multnomah County Commissioner and is presently Chair of the Mt. Hood Community College School Board.
Mike’s service to others is well known. He was a Gresham-Barlow School Board member for many years. He also served on the MODA Board and helped name the MODA Center. He is presently Chairman of Fire and Emergency Services District 10 and Chairman of the City of Gresham Design Commission. He also serves with the State of Oregon Medical Services Corps.
